School Funding Services (“SFS”), a unit of New American Schools (“NAS”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our users and has created this privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) to explain our information-gathering and dissemination practices for our web site: (the “Web Site”). If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not provide us with any information and do not use the Web Site or the services provided hereunder. The Information We Collect
This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the Web Site. The types of personal information we collect include the following:

  • Organization Name & Organization Type
  • Organization Address
  • Email address
  • Phone and fax number
  • Certain other organization-related information
Our primary goal in collecting this information from you is to provide you with a smooth, efficient and customized experience that will help you get the most from our services. In addition, we collect information about our users that cannot be used to personally identify you. For example, we automatically gather certain information about you based upon your activity on the Web Site. We may also collect machine data such as processor type, processor speed, operating system type, browser type, audio devices, modem devices and video cards. This information may include the web site’s Uniform Resource Locator (“URL”) that you just came from, which URL you next go to, what browser you are using, and your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address. This information may be compiled and analyzed on an aggregated basis. For instance, we may know that ten thousand people visit this Privacy Policy today, but we do not know their names or addresses so they are anonymous to us. All of this information helps us understand your special interests and individual habits so that we can personalize the services that we make available to you.

How Your Information is Used
We may share any of the information internally, both within SFS and with NAS and each unit within NAS. By signing up for the service, you grant us the right to use and list the name of your organization on our promotional materials. We may identify your organization as a subscriber of our service to the general public in an effort to promote our service, but we will not provide any specific contact information about these organizations (i.e. names, phone numbers, e-mail addresses). Any organization that does not wish to be identified publicly as a subscriber of the service should send us an e-mail stating that it does not wish that SFS use the name of its organization in such a manner, and we will cease using the name of your organization at such time. See Contact Us. We will not (nor will NAS or any unit within NAS) sell, dispose or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to any third party without your consent. To provide our users with access to a wide variety of services and information that we believe will interest you and make your experience more rewarding, we may also share aggregated information about our users with various third parties who we believe can provide services or products that are useful to you.

We may also occasionally ask our users to participate in surveys to help us better determine ways of meeting your needs. This information will only be used for the purpose of the survey.

Use of Cookies
Cookies are small data text files that are sent from a server computer to your computer during a browsing session. The cookies are typically stored on your computer’s hard drive and are used by web sites to simulate a continuous connection to that web site. We may disclose personal information when required by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary in order to conform to the edicts of the law or comply with a legal process served on us. In addition, we may disclose your personal information to law enforcement authorities investigating suspected illegal activity or to its legal advisors in connection with a suspected violation of the Terms or this Privacy Policy.

Controlling your Information
You may deactivate your account and delete you information from our database by sending an email to School Funding Services This email must include the user’s full name, address and contact information in the request in order to allow SFS to verify the users identity. We may also send periodic emails to our users notifying them of new programs, special offers and new features about the Web Site. A user may opt-out of receiving these mailings by indicating as such the first time they log into the site or on the My Account screen page.

We use industry standard security measures to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Nonetheless, due to the inherent dangers of the Internet we cannot guarantee the protection of such information against loss, misuse or alteration.

A Special Notice to Parents of Children Under the Age of 13
In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and fair information practices, minors, including children under the age of 13, are not allowed to register as user and we do not collect any personal identifying information from children.
