Winner Nielsen has a rating of 2620 and he went on to win the Hastings Tournament.

Don't feel too sorry for young Karjakin, he'll be the World Champion before he is 17.........

Kind regards,

Cal

Karjakin is the next Morphy Sergey bagged 5 points out of 9--one more win and
he would have taken 1st prize. Like Fischer, in his
youngest days he's a little spotty but with flashes of
utter brilliancy.

If you want to see his 9 games at Hastings in a java
viewer, including the above debacle, they are all

You can see that Peter Heine Nielsen is taking up after his great idol: Bent Larsen, with this score here: +5=2-2.
Think about it, winning Hastings even though your loosing two games on the way :-))

Bent Larsen played Hastings many times, he also won there. He used to call it: "The cold feets tournament"

Best Wishes
